The Community Foundation of Chippewa County, WI is looking for an Executive Director to join our Growing and Vibrant Foundation!

We are a nonprofit organization committed to actively seeking and prudently managing assets created by charitable gifts for permanent endowment and other charitable purposes. In addition, we also provide investment management services, leadership support and other assistance to organizations in the greater Chippewa County, WI area.

Located in Chippewa County, WI, Chippewa Falls is part of the greater Chippewa Valley, a great place to live, work and play!

Job description

As the Executive Director you will be responsible for developing and implementing prioritized endowed, planned giving, and annual giving strategies; maintaining and deepening relationships with current fund holders; maintaining a regular program of contact with professional financial and estate planning advisors and non-profit leaders; planning for, arranging and attending all Board and Committee meetings; providing professional guidance and direction to the Board Chair, Committee Chairs and Board Members in determining strategic direction and in recommending and implementing board governance and committee decisions; and guiding the Board and its committees in matters of policy formation and interpretation. You will also help identify and address community issues and needs, educate and engage donors in grant making opportunities, and oversee the Foundation’s competitive grant-making process; represent the Foundation at community events; provide overall supervision to Foundation staff; prepare and implement an annual operating budget and effectively supervise daily operations of the Foundation; and prepare or oversee preparation of correspondence for officers and other Board members as needed.

The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate and build strong relationships; be a strategic thinker; be a motivated self-starter, have excellent oral and written interpersonal skills and organizational skills, be honest, ethical and trustworthy and possess the ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

qualifications

Education and/or Experience requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as philanthropy, business, finance, legal, or a related area, or equivalent in experience.
  • Professional resource development experience and experience with foundations is highly desirable.
  • Prior administrative experience that includes accounting-related responsibilities.
  • Ability to use Microsoft office products.
