Our Nawakwa, Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and stewarding Camp Nawakwa, a 90-year-old camp located in Chippewa County, Wisconsin. The organization's mission is to connect youth and community members to nature while supporting healthy growth through environmental education, leadership development, and service opportunities. Since acquiring the former Boy Scout and later Girl Scout camp in 2024, Our Nawakwa has invested in facility improvements, safety upgrades, and community events to ensure the camp remains accessible, sustainable, and welcoming for future generations. Camp Nawakwa serves a wide range of groups, including youth organizations, schools, churches, scouting programs, and community partners, providing an affordable outdoor experience that fosters personal growth, teamwork, and appreciation for the natural world.

For Our Nawakwa, the Connecting YOUth to Nature pass-through serves as the organization's Capital Campaign. This campaign was created to support three key priorities: the purchase of the Camp Nawakwa property, five years of operating support to ensure long-term sustainability, and funding for capital improvements, deferred maintenance, and energy-efficiency upgrades. These investments help preserve the camp's historic facilities, improve safety and accessibility, and reduce long-term operating costs while strengthening the overall camp experience for youth and community groups.

The Community Foundation of Chippewa County's pass-through option allows donors to make tax-deductible gifts that are distributed directly to Our Nawakwa for these designated purposes. This approach provides trusted financial oversight while helping streamline donations and strengthen credibility with donors and grantmakers. Through this partnership, supporters can confidently contribute to the long-term sustainability of Camp Nawakwa, ensuring it continues to serve the Chippewa Valley community for generations to come.
